Southern Black Farmer’s Community-Led Fund

Debra edited a short promotional video with anchor members of the Southern Black Farmers Community-Led Fund to highlight their work and fundraising efforts. The SBFCLF is a network of Black Farmers and leaders specializing in agriculture and organizing strategies in regional communities throughout Mississippi and Alabama.
Sankofa Center: The Rocky Dawuni Foundation
EDITOR
Debra created this short video with Grammy-nominated international reggae-afro-funk artist Rocky Dawuni, and producer Cary Sullivan to help raise funding for the Sankofa Center, a community-based organization outside of Accra, Ghana. The Center focuses on cultural arts and environmental education while also providing a community recording studio and entertainment space. Teton Youth & Family Services

Debra created three short films about young people sharing their stories of resilience and success as graduates from Teton Youth and Family Services programs in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. TYFS provides therapy and residential treatment to young people in crisis and/or facing juvenile detention.
UCSF Cancer Awareness Testimonials
PRODUCER/EDITOR
Debra produced several short video testimonials by local cancer survivors for a Bay Area-wide colon cancer awareness campaign with Dr. Kim Rhoads, Director of the UCSF Helen Diller Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Office of Community Engagement and Umoja Health. Each true story was meant to encourage people to get screened for colon cancer through colonoscopies and cologuard tests. These testimonials were shared online and through public health messaging on public transportation, radio, and local television broadcasts.
Democracy: Educational Video
Producer
Debra produced the Democracy: Founding to the Future series of short 1-2 minute educational videos with director Michael Cerny. The videos are featured in a high school curriculum and at a live conference/symposium on the founding principles of American Democracy held at Mount Vernon’s George Washington Presidential Library. Debra spearheaded casting and brought celebrity talent to the project.
