For the last 30 years, Debra has consulted on a broad spectrum of projects with individuals, organizations, and communities. Debra values the opportunity to help strengthen, uplift and implement community efforts for success. Here are some examples of her latest consulting work:

The Ray Balberan Mission Mediarts Archive (RBMMA)

FILM COLLECTIVE Team Member (2004-PrESENT)

Debra has worked with her mentor filmmaker and community peacemaker Ray Balberan for over 20 years in the preservation of his extensive 16mm film and half-inch tape archive chronicling San Francisco and Mission District history of the seventies and eighties. The RBMMA film collective is made up of local filmmakers Ray Balberan, Ginger Godines, and Vero Majano who together are entrusted with the responsibility of preserving this local history and making it accessible to students, community members, researchers, historians, and filmmakers of the future.

Net-Zero House Port Fund

CoNSULTANT (2022-PRESENT)

Debra collaborates with artist Hally Thacher to manage the Net Zero House Port Fund, which is a non-profit organization supported by House Port LLC. The foundation aims to create opportunities for lifelong learning and leadership in the fields of arts, design, and sustainability. Along with Ms. Thacher, Debra conceptualized the foundation and developed the overall arts fellowship program. She serves on the board and co-directs the Fund. The launch of the Fund is scheduled for Summer 2024.

Art Division Film Department

FILM DEPARTMENT CONSULTANT + ORGANIZATIONAL CONSULTANT (2018-2022)

Debra worked with Art Division, an LA-based art school and gallery for young adults. During her tenure, she played a key role in establishing the school's Film Department. Her responsibilities included developing a comprehensive course curriculum, setting up a Film Lab equipped with camera equipment and editing stations, and hiring competent instructors. Apart from this, Debra also provided valuable assistance to the Founder Dan McLeary and other staff members in the areas of strategic planning, infrastructure development, overhaul of the student registration process, and Executive Transition Plan.

CUrriculum + PROGRAM Design (2023)

Debra worked with the Jackson Hole International Film Festival to design a pilot program for the Youth Film Camp, including tailored curriculum and programming.
